Join Arsenal As A Loan Player, David Raya: How The Team Plays My Match

JAKARTA - Arsenal announced the arrival of David Raya from Brentford. The player was brought in on loan for one season.

However, there is a chance for Raya to be permanent the following season. Arsenal has the option to make Raya permanent at the end of the season at a price of 27 million (around Rp525 billion).

"We welcome David's arrival on loan for one season. David is a high-quality goalkeeper, who has consistently appeared at a high level with Brentford in the Premier League," said Arsenal Sports Director Edu Gaspar, quoted by AFP, Wednesday, August 16.

The big challenge will be faced by the Spanish goalkeeper. The reason is, he has to compete with the Gunners main goalkeeper, Aaron Ramdasale, to gain the trust of his manager, Mikel Arteta.

Ramsdale has been Arsenal's main goalkeeper since arriving from Sheffield United in 2021. However, Mikel Arteta wants to bring in another goalkeeper to provide competition for the England goalkeeper, especially after Arsenal sold Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest.

However, the 27-year-old player was not afraid. Instead, he felt that Arsenal's style of play would match him.

"I'm really happy to be able to accept this challenge in my career and move up to the next level," Raya said on the club's official website, quoted via Antara.

"I've been watching Arsenal for years and since (Mikel) came, he's made major changes to the style of play and the club. The way the team builds attacks from behind and it fits me. I'll try and help the team as best I can and we'll see the results later," added Raya.

David Raya has played 38 Premier League games for Brentford last season and his form has received a lot of praise.
