KEDIRI - A joint team from the City Government (Pemkot) of Kediri took samples of well water that was suspected of being contaminated from a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) on Tuesday, August 15.

A total of seven well water locations in the Kresek Environment, RT 05 RW 02, Tempurejo Village, Islamic Boarding School District, Kediri City, East Java, were the focus of sampling.

The Head of Islamic Boarding School Police, Kompol Sugianto, revealed that his party also monitored and secured the process of taking water samples from this well.

"In this case, samples of wells that are suspected of being affected or contaminated due to potential leaks from gas stations belonging to residents have been taken for laboratory tests," said Sugianto on Tuesday.

Sugianto explained that the seven water well owners who were the targets of sampling were Sulastri, Rio, Sugiono, Semi, Karmani, Agus, and Santoso. As a comparison, two other water wells that were not affected by pollution, namely those owned by Sumiati and Sri Rahayu, were also sampled. Both are local residents.

A number of agencies were involved in this wellwater sampling activity, including the Health Service, Department of Environment and Hygiene (DLHKP), Ecoton, Tempurejo Village, elements of three security pillars, as well as the head of the local Neighborhood Units (RT and RW).

"The process of sampling water wells, whether suspected of being contaminated or not, in RT 05 RW 02, runs smoothly, orderly, and is under control," he added.
