6 Buildings In Maja Islamic Boarding School Burned, Losses Estimated At IDR 600 Million

TANGERANG - A total of six buildings at the Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Maja Village, Gunung kaler, Tangerang Regency caught fire. The loss is estimated at Rp600 million.

Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency, Ujat Sudrajat, said that his party received the report on Sunday, August 13, at 15.30 WIB.

"It's true that there are six buildings consisting of three dormitories and three canteens," Ujat said in a short message.

Ujat explained that the incident began when traders in the canteen were cooking, suddenly a leak occurred in the gas which was located not far from the refrigerator cable. So there was a short circuit until finally released a fire.

"It is suspected that the cause of the fire was due to a gas stove leak that grabbed into the refrigerator cable," he said.

Furthermore, his party who received the information immediately dispatched a number of firefighters and engines. As a result, the fire was successfully extinguished at 17.30 WIB.

"Officers arrive at 16.00 WIB. The length of handling is 1 hour 30 minutes," he said.

Ujat confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the loss is estimated at up to Rp600 million.

"There is no victim, a loss of Rp 600 million," he concluded.
