Chelsea Will Return To The Transfer Exchange Due To Chirstopher Nkunku's Knee Surgery
JAKARTA - Chelsea could return to the transfer market after their new striker, Christopher Nkunku is absent after undergoing knee surgery.
The 25-year-old French striker only joined the London club in June from RB Leipzig for a transfer value of 63 million (around Rp1.22 trillion). However, earlier this week Chelsea said that Nkunku would be absent for quite a long time.
"We feel sad about Nkunku because he did well," Chelsea Coach Mauricio Pochettino quoted Antara as saying.
Nkunku picked up an injury while playing in a pre-season game against Borussia Dortmund in Chicago last week.
"He is an important player for us, he has the qualities, one of the best strikers, can play in different positions. This is a big issue for us. However, now we don't think too much about injury, and remain positive," he said.

Pochettino said Chelsea is currently looking for a short-term solution to fill Nkunku's position.
"We are looking at the (transfer) market because we will lose players like Nkunku. Clubs are currently trying to find a solution, maybe in the short term, maybe long term to add the right players."
Chelsea tried to fix their attacking line, which only scored 38 goals last season. They signed Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in this summer's transfer market.
