Governor Who Runs Out Of Office In September 2023: There Are 17 People Recorded, Anyone?

YOGYAKARTA - A total of 17 regional heads at the governor's level will end their term of office starting September 2023.

This was revealed by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian during the Border Management Coordination Meeting in Ancol, Jakarta, Thursday (25/5).

"In September, there will be 17 governors whose terms of office will run out," said Tito.

The following is a record of 17 governor names whose term of office ends in September 2023.

1. Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi

2. Riau Governor Syamsuar

3. Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru

4. Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi

5. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil

6. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo

7. East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa

8. Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster

9. Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Zulkieflimansyah

10. Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor Laiskodat

11. East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor

12. Maluku Governor Murad Ismail

13. Papua Governor Lukas Enembe (active)

14. Governor of West Kalimantan Sutarmidji

15. Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman

16. Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Ali Mazi

17. Governor of North Maluku Abdul Gani Kasuba

Not only that, said Tito, there are 153 regional heads at the level of mayors and regents whose term of office ends in September 2023.

Thus, the total number of regional heads who ended their term of office reached 170 people starting this September.

"This is a lot. The total is 170," he said.

The former National Police Chief said the government would appoint acting regional heads, governors, mayors, and regents to fill vacant positions until the 2024 Pilkada.

Tito appealed to echelon I officials who are interested in becoming the Acting Governor to register. The same thing applies to echelon II officials who have the will to serve as acting mayor or regent.
