It Turns Out That This Is The Reason Why The KPK Council Still Holds The Ethics Session Today Even Though Johanis Tanak Leave
JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that the ethics trial against the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak will continue to be held today, Monday, July 24. This closed trial was carried out according to the mechanism even though there was a request for rescheduling.
"It's true, Mr. JT asked for the trial to be postponed," said KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris to reporters quoted Monday, July 24.
Even though Johanis did not come, said Syamsuddin, the ethics panel still had to hold the trial. The goal is to decide the next schedule.
"It will be postponed when it will be decided in court," he said.
Previously, Johanis Tanak admitted that he had written and asked the KPK Supervisory Board to postpone his trial of alleged ethical violations. This delay was made because he was on leave.
Johanis will be tried on ethics because he is suspected of communicating with the Director General of Mineral and Coal, Idris Froyoto Siites.
"Wednesday just entered the office. So I asked Johanis to back off," Johanis told VOI when contacted via text message on Friday, July 21.

Johanis ensured that he was ready to face an ethics trial. After all, he felt he had never violated anything even though he communicated with Idris.
"I am considered to have violated the code of ethics but I myself feel that I have not violated it," he said.
