Medan City Government Will Relocate Waste TPS In Teladan Stadium Area
The Medan City Government through the local Environment Agency will relocate temporary shelters (TPS) for garbage in the Teladan Stadium area to other places.
Head of the Medan City Environment Agency, Suryadi Panjaitan, said he was still looking for a location to move the TPS in Teladan Park, Medan City.
"We haven't got any vacant land. As soon as we get the location, we will immediately convey it to the Medan City Housing and Settlement Service, Cipta Karya and Spatial Planning Office for the construction of the TPS," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 20.
As a temporary solution at the TPS in the Teladan Stadium area, his party will create a closed TPS to immediately create a door.
This is so that the smell of garbage that accumulates at the TPS in Taman Teladan does not disturb traders or residents who pass around the Teladan Stadium.
The search for the TPS relocation site continues because the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has renovated the Teladan Stadium, which is scheduled to start in October 2023, cost more than IDR 560 billion.
"Every time we finish loading and unloading the garbage, this TPS is immediately cleaned and doused with disinfectants and carbage to remove an unpleasant odor," he said.

"After that, the door to the TPS at Taman Teladan was closed so that the smell of garbage would not smell those who live in the area," explained Suryadi.
The Medan Kota Subdistrict claimed to have made various efforts in responding to polling stations in Teladan Park so that their presence would not disturb local residents.
One of them is by covering the surrounding TPS using a banner so that it is not seen directly by residents who pass or live around it.
"We deliberately formed a banner covering the surroundings of the TPS so that its existence would not disturb the aesthetics of the city in the area. Although it was repeatedly damaged, we still cover it up," said Medan sub-district head Raja Ian Andos Lubis.
