Sandiaga Concerning Vice Presidential Candidates: Decision To Be In The Hands Of The Head Of Political Parties

MAKASSAR - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno handed over his decision to appoint himself as a presidential candidate or future vice presidential candidate for the 2024 election to the general chairman of political parties.

"I've been cawapres, although I haven't been able to trust it, I will definitely try. However, the decision is in the hands of the chairman of a political party. I don't want to make assumptions," said Sandiagadiansir ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

He said the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 General Election must be addressed with joy and joy.

In addition, Sandiaga asked the public to understand that democratic contestation must be carried out without dividing the unity of Indonesian society.

"Don't let this politics end up being an event that divides us," he added.

According to Sandiaga, the 2024 election must be addressed as an opportunity to build Indonesia together. So, whatever the decision regarding who will be the presidential and vice presidential candidates, must be encouraged and continue to work together to build Indonesia together.

One form of building Indonesia, he said, is to focus on economic resolution and listen to people's needs, such as contributing suggestions, creating jobs, and providing access to capital support.

During his visit to Makassar, South Sulawesi, Sandiaga met with micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the area and heard complaints that they needed capital to develop their business.

Sandiaga said that things to make people prosperous and build an economy like that must be a concern in the political year, not actually develop issues that have the potential to divide the unity of the Indonesian people.

"So, this must be our focus. We should not develop issues that can become polarization," he said.
