PSSI Assigns Shin Tae-yong To Hold The U-23 Indonesian National Team, These Are 2 Agendas That Have Been Waiting
PSSI has officially assigned Shin Tae-yong to handle the U-23 Indonesian national team. The South Korean coach will face two important agendas that are already in sight.
Shin Tae-yong will share his duties with Indra Sjafri who will win the team for the 2023 Asian Gqmes. The division of tasks was chosen considering that the age group national team will face a solid agenda.
Meanwhile, Shin will focus on two other agendas. His first task is to lead the team for the AFF U-23 Cup which will be held in Thailand on August 17-26.
In the competition, the U-23 national team occupies Group B which contains three members with Timor Leste and Malaysia. In preparation, Shin Tae-yong plans to start a training camp in early August or in the middle of the competition.
The coach's time is also quite tight because not until a month later, the U-23 national team will also participate in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification. The agenda is scheduled to take place on September 6-12.
For the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup qualifying round, Shin Tae-yong's team is included in Group K with Turkmenistan and Taiwan. The entire Group K match will take place at Manahan Stadium, Solo.
In addition to getting the task of coaching the U-23 national team, Shin Tae-yong still carries out his main responsibility with the senior national team, including for the FIFA Matchday agenda.
"For the AFF U-23 Cup, U-23 Asian Cup Qualification, the senior Indonesian national team is under Coach Shin Tae-yong," said PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir, as quoted by Antara.
