Rorr, A Strong And Cheap Electric Motorbike From India

JAKARTA - India has become the basis for many two-wheeled electric vehicle startups, with its main focus on scooters and light to medium electric motorcycles.

However, Oben Electric, as a new player from India, has a different focus by working on the high-performance electric motorcycle segment. They are trying hard to bring sensations and experiences like conventional motorcycles to their products.

Last year, Oben Electric introduced the concept of their motorcycle named Rorr. The latest news from InsideEvs, July 4, reveals that Oben Electric will begin shipping the first batch of Oben Rorr electric motorcycles. Customers who are impatient will soon get their sporty electric motorcycles in the early weeks of July.

Before announcing Rorr's delivery, Oben also inaugurated a new experience center in Bangalore. In addition to opening a showroom featuring the latest products, this electric motorcycle manufacturer has opened up a lot of dealers to provide a clearer picture of electric vehicle technology to potential customers.

Currently, there are more than 21,000 initial orders for this Oben motorcycle. The high interest of buyers in this sporty electric motorcycle is indeed interesting to discuss. The Rorr is equipped with an IPMSM 10 kilowatt electric motorbike developed in-house. With a nominal output of 13.4 dk, the Rorr can shoot up from zero to 40 km/hour in just three seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 104 km/hour.

In addition, Oben Electric is also proud to announce that the Rorr has a high local level content of 95 percent. This means 95 percent of all components in the Rorr are from India, with most of these components being developed in-house. For example, the battery uses the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) unit, which is the battery first developed by the Oben Electric. Compared to the standard lithium-ion battery pack, the LFP battery offers more refill cycles, better heat resistance, and superior fast charging capabilities.

According to Oben's claim, this battery only takes two hours for full charging. The Rorr is sold for 149,999 rupees, or around Rp27 million, making it an attractive offering on India's growing electric motorcycle market.
