A Number Of Houses In Bantul Were Damaged By The M 6.4 Yogyakarta Earthquake
BANTUL - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), said a number of houses in this area were damaged by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4.
"The damage to houses occurred at 17 points. The exact number is still being collected," said BPBD Bantul Aka Luk Firmansyah, Commander of the Center for Disaster Management Operations Control (Pusdalops PB) Luk Firmansyah, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 30.
Based on information from the BMKG, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred on Friday (30/6) at 19.57 WIB located at 8.63 South Latitude (LS), 110.08 East Longitude (BT). The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea 86 km southwest of Bantul, DIY, with a depth of 25 km.
In addition to Bantul Regency, earthquake tremors were also felt by people in the areas of Yogyakarta City, Sleman Regency, Kulon Progo, and Gunungkidul, DIY.

BMKG appealed to the public to remain calm and not be influenced by issues that cannot be justified.
"Avoid cracked or damaged buildings caused by the earthquake. Check and make sure the building where you live is earthquake-resistant enough, or there is no damage caused by earthquake vibrations that endanger the stability of the building before you return to the house," the BMKG appealed.
