Earthquake M6.6 Guncang Yogyakarta, Feels To Sukabumi

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) 6.6 centered in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), on Friday, June 30, at around 19.57 WIB. The tremors were also felt by some residents of Sukabumi City, West Java.

"Although only a few seconds of the Bantul earthquake vibration, it was quite felt in Sukabumi City. We have instructed officers to be prepared to anticipate any impact," said Sukabumi City BPBD Chief Executive Novian Rahmat in Sukabumi, Friday.

BMKG released the earthquake located at 8.70 South Latitude, 110.06 East Longitude, 94 km Southwest of Bantul with an earthquake depth of 12 km.
