The West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Office asked all hotel entrepreneurs in the region to comply with Governor Regulation (Pergub) number 9 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Hotel and Transportation Tariff Accommodation Services Business at the Mandalika MotoGP event on October 13-15, 2023."So we have had several meetings with hotel associations, we always convey that this year's MotoGP is different from the previous year. If in the past, okay, there was no legal umbrella for the governor's regulation. But now there are signs, complete with sanctions if violated," said Head of the NTB Tourism Office Jamaluddin Malady at the NTB Governor's Office in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, June 27.Jamaluddin explained that in the Governor's Regulation, accommodation service rates are regulated based on zoning. In the zone where the MotoGP event will take place, it is still allowed to increase the room rate to a maximum of 3 times the previous rate. Then, the zone is more outer 2 times and the farthest zone is from the maximum 1-fold increase event. Zone 1 is in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and includes Central Lombok Regency.Zone 2 covers parts of the West Lombok and Mataram City areas. While zone 3 covers the Senggigi and Tiga Gili areas in North Lombok Regency."The goal is not to let these guests lose," he said. Therefore, his party has warned all hotel or inn entrepreneurs not to play hotel room rates during the Mandalika MotoGP event."So don't mess around with tourism industry players," said Jamal, the nickname of the NTB Kadispar.According to him, currently there is a Task Force (Satgas) that has been formed. His job is to monitor hotel accommodation rates during the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP event. This task force is filled by the NTB Provincial Government, NTB Police, prosecutors and hotel associations."So don't play games, don't mess around with hotel business actors. So this governor's regulation must be followed," he said.Previously, the Mandalika Hotel Association (MHA) reported that hotel rooms in the area were fully booked by crews from the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP team."The hotel ROOM is full now and the guests who stay at least three nights to one week during MotoGP," said MHA Secretary Rata Wijaya. He also mentioned that the guests had made full payments so that there were no rooms left.Even if there are rooms available, hotel managers have raised prices by two to three times the normal price of hotels in Mandalika. Even so, the increase is still in accordance with the Governor Regulation (Pergub) of NTB.
