Ridwan Kamil: Converting Electric Motors No Need To Buy Fuel Again
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil invited the public to take advantage of the subsidy for purchasing electric vehicles.
According to him, the subsidy of electric vehicles for two wheels of Rp. 7 million can be used to buy new units or convert from fuel vehicles to electricity.
"Tell the public, please subsidy Rp. 7 million for the purchase of electric motorcycles to be used immediately, either by buying a new electric motorbike or converting the gasoline motorbikes used daily," said Ridwan Kamil, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 25.
The man who is familiarly called Kang Emil said that converting gasoline to electric vehicles requires a fee of between Rp. 9 million and Rp. 10 million.
Currently, there are four official vehicle conversion workshops that are members of the community forum for users of West Java electric vehicles.
"If I convert it, I check the average Rp. 9 million to Rp. 10 million, meaning that if it is subsidized for Rp. 7 million, then it is enough that Rp. 2 million to Rp. 3 million of his motorbike no longer needs to buy fuel, aka electric motors in existing workshops and tested," he said.
Kang Emil asked the public to be more concerned about the conditions of the world's temperature which is getting hotter, increasing sea water levels, eroded land and heat waves caused by high carbon use, one of which is vehicle fuel.
"This must be a common concern because the world is getting hotter and the sea water is increasing, land is getting eroded, climate disasters such as heat waves are starting to arrive," he said.
