Aceh Police Reveals TIP Case In Prostitution Mode, Victims Sold For Pimps Of IDR 800 Thousand For Dating

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Regional Police (Polda) revealed a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) with the mode of prostitution and arrested two suspected perpetrators.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Joko Krisdiyanto, said that the disclosure of the TIP case was based on public information, where the perpetrator was suspected of trafficking underage women.

"The alleged perpetrator with the initials RA is 36 years old and R is 42 years old. RA and R are suspected of selling the 17-year-old victim with prostitution mode. The perpetrator was arrested in the Langsa Lama area, Langsa City," said Joko Krisdiyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 17.

He said the disclosure of the TIP began with public suspicion of allegations of prostitution in Gampong (Village) Pondok Keumuning, Langsa Lama District, Langsa City.

The public then reported it to the police. Based on the report, the Langsa Police assigned personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit to investigate.

"Officers found evidence of the veracity of the report, where there was a criminal act of trafficking in persons with prostitution mode. Then, officers arrested RA and R in a separate place," said Joko Krisdiyanto.

From the results of the examination, the alleged perpetrator RA was a pimp. RA is suspected of selling his 17-year-old victim to someone at a price of Rp800 thousand. Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrator R is a provider of prostitution places allegedly committed by RA.

"Currently, the alleged perpetrators are being held at the Langsa Police for further investigation and are trying to reduce the perpetrator's prostitution network, which is part of the mode of trafficking in persons," said Joko Krisdiyanto.
