KPU: Design Of Election Technical Regulations According To Open Proportional System
The KPU ensures that it will design technical regulations for the 2024 General Election in accordance with the open proportional electoral system, as stated by the Constitutional Court regarding the judicial review of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
"So in the future, we will design technical regulations for organizing elections, which is in accordance with an open list proportional system," said KPU member Idham Holik at a press conference reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 15.
Idham also said that the technical regulations refer to the Election Law which mandates the implementation of elections in the country using an open proportional system.
The technical regulations regulate a number of things, including voting and vote counting, converting votes into seats in parliament, as well as determining the elected legislative candidate (caleg).
Idham said that in the near future, the KPU will invite mass media, civil society representatives, and political parties participating in the 2024 General Election to take part in a public test of the PKPU draft on voting and vote counting.
