The Hospital Ship Malahayati Becomes A Symbol Of The Presence Of The State In The Maritime Region

JAKARTA - In various historical records, Malahayati is known as the first female marine executive in Indonesia. She is the warlord of the Aceh Sultanate who was tested for her courage against the Dutch and Portuguese naval fleets in the 16th century AD.

During the inauguration of the operational inauguration of the Floating Hospital Ship Admiral Malahayati and the People's Health Ship, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi said the Floating Hospital Ship Admiral Malahayati was a symbol of the state's presence in the maritime area.

"This (the ship of the Floating Hospital Admiral Malahayati) once again reminds that the presence of the state in the maritime area must be increased," Budi said at the VVQ9+5M6 Inggom Cadet Pier, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 10.

Budi Karya admitted that he was happy that the Indonesian sea was decorated with the launch of the two ships which he considered very philosophical, especially operations to remote areas of the country.

"The President always advised that all activities carried out must think about the interests of the people and we see that there are four philosophical things on the Admiral Malahayati Ship," Budi Karya said in his remarks.

The four philosophical things are the name of Admiral Malahayati, then his heroic figure as a national hero, then a female figure, and a figure from the western tip of Indonesia.

Budi Karya stated that the Health Ship is very important considering that Indonesia is a maritime country.

"Mrs. Mega, whom I respect, what is today's activity, of course, is a good step for us, ships like this must be built more towards a further important point and the four philosophys must be the basis for what we do," he said.
