Amazing! PSG Coach Confirms Clermont's Game To Be The Last For Lionel Messi
JAKARTA - Lionel Messi is widely reported to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of the season. This news got warmer after the coach, Christophe Galtier, confirmed that the match against Clermont would be Messi's last match at the Parc des Princes.
The match against Clermont will take place on June 3. Galtier hopes Messi will get a warm welcome from PSG fans in that match.
"I have the privilege of coaching the best players in football history. This will be his last game at the Parc des Princes and I hope he will receive the warmest welcome," said Christophe Galtier, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 1.
Messi was brought in from Barcelona in 2021 on a two-year contract. During his PSG uniform, La Pulga has presented Ligue 1 titles in the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons as well as the French Super Cup in July 2022.
"This year, he has become an important part of the team, always available. I don't think comments or criticisms are justified. He is always there for the team. It is a great honor to accompany him throughout the season," said Galtier.
This season the seven Ballon d'Or title winner has scored 21 goals and 20 assists in all competitions. But Messi was suspended from playing for two weeks in April after being caught absent from training and making unauthorized trips to Saudi Arabia.

Shortly thereafter, PSG decided to lift the ban after Messi apologized for the unjustified act.
Despite appearing as PSG's new uniform model, Messi has yet to reach an agreement regarding his contract renewal which will expire as of June.
Messi's future at PSG has become a rumor and has sparked a lot of speculation recently. Argentina's all-time top scorer was offered to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal next season after the club made a fantastic salary offer.
In addition, Messi was also linked back to his old club, Barcelona, after contacting a number of representatives from the club based at Camp Nou.
