JAKARTA - The Indo Barometer survey institute released the results of public opinion regarding the success rate of the three governors of DKI, namely Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) and Anies Baswedan.
It is known that neither Jokowi nor Ahok led Jakarta by even 5 years. Jokowi only served as Governor of DKI for 2 years, namely 15 October 2012 to 16 October 2014.
Ahok has been the number 1 person of DKI for 2.5 years, from 19 November 2014 to 9 May 2017. Meanwhile, Anies has been serving as the Governor of DKI for 2.5 years, namely since 16 October 2017.
There are five indicators presented by the Executive Director of Indo Barometer Muhammad Qodari in the results of this survey, namely education, health, economy, floods, and traffic jams.
"According to the national public, Jokowi is superior to Ahok and Anies in terms of education, health and economy," said Qodari, Sunday, February 16.
Meanwhile, Anies did not outperform any indicator from the results of the survey conducted in the period from 9 to 15 January 2020.
In details, Jokowi is the most superior in alleviating education problems with a percentage of 35.1 percent, followed by Anies at 25.3 percent, and Ahok at 15.3 percent.
Jokowi is also considered the most successful in overcoming health problems, namely 35.7 percent, then Anies with 20.4 percent, and Ahok at 17.8 percent.
"Even with the economic problems of DKI residents, Jokowi is the most superior with 33.8 percent, followed by Ahok with 18.4 percent and 18 percent," he said.
Furthermore, for floods and traffic jams, respondents considered Ahok to be the best. As many as 42 percent of the public considered Ahok to be successful in alleviating floods, followed by Jokowi with 25 percent, and Anies with 4.1 percent.
"In solving congestion, Ahok is also considered the most successful with the acquisition of 35.3 percent, Jokowi 25.3 percent, and Anies 8.3 percent," said Qodari.
Jakarta's classic problem
Indo Barometer also surveyed the public's response to classic problems in Jakarta, namely flooding and traffic jams. Regarding responsibility, as many as 61.4 percent of the public stated that the DKI Jakarta provincial government was more responsible for solving the flood problem in DKI Jakarta.
"Those who state that the central government is more responsible in solving the flood problem in DKI Jakarta is smaller, namely 26.2 percent," explained Qodari.
There are still many people who believe that the Jakarta flood problem can be resolved, namely by reaching 60.3 percent. Meanwhile, 27.3 percent stated that the flood problem in DKI Jakarta could not be resolved.
When talking about traffic jams, as many as 49.3 percent of the public stated that the congestion problem in DKI Jakarta could be resolved. Those who stated otherwise were 34.4 percent.
"When compared with the problem of flooding, it seems that the national public thinks that the congestion problem is more difficult to solve than the problem of flooding," said Qodari.
For information, this survey used the multistage random sampling method with 1200 respondents. The margin of error is ± 2.83%, at the 95 percent confidence level. The data collection technique used was face-to-face interviews with respondents using a questionnaire.
