Government Extends Crude Mineral Export Permit Until 2024
JAKARTA - The government has officially granted export permits to five mining commodities until June 2024.
The five minerals are copper, iron, lead, zinc and anode mud from copper refining.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that currently his party is finalizing the draft Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding the continuation of the construction of purification facilities with the substance of the opportunity for Mining Business Permit holders (IUP) or Special Mining Business Permits (IUPK) for metal minerals in selling processing products abroad until 2024.
"It is limited to copper, iron, lead and zinc commodities and anode mud from copper refining," Arifin said in a Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday, May 24.
Second, this permit is only given to IUP holders and IUPK whose progress of construction of the purification facility has reached 50 percent in January 2023.
Arifin emphasized that the granting of this permit could be revoked if it did not show progress in the construction of the smelter.
In addition, sales of processing products are also required to pay out duties and administrative fines set by the Minister of Finance.
"Then the judging results of the processing must be based on export recommendations from the Director General of Mineral and Coal and export approval from the Ministry of Trade," he added.

Arifin added, to obtain export recommendations, companies are required to meet the requirements contained in the candy design and supervision mechanisms carried out by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources based on physical approvals for the construction of purification facilities.
