JAKARTA - After a long rumor, Lexus released a teaser from his latest SUV, LBX, which will launch on June 5.
The teaser appeared on the Toyota Global page, Monday, May 22, the LBX Lexus was only shown the lights, bumper, and front hood. Then, also displayed modern style back lights that will be a means of lighting from the SUV.
In the picture, you can see the front is equipped with LED lights that are interconnected with chrom strips. It looks like there is no typical Grill from Lexus, but the manufacturer replaces it with a honeycomb pattern in the center of the bumper. Also displayed is the "L" logo at the end of the front of the chrom strip which indicates that this is a Lexus car.
Moving on the back, Lexus only features LED lights on with a dynamic and modern design in the dark room.
Although specifications have not been disclosed, LBX is likely to share a platform with Toyota Yaris Cross which is sold in Europe, Australia, and Japan, namely the GA-B platform, as reported by Carscoops, Monday, May 22.
Just like Yaris Cross, Lexus LBX will fill the sub-compact segment or B-SUV segment, which means it will compete with Honda HR-V and Hyundai Creta.
Entering the B-SUV class, LBX has a length of 4,180 mm, a width of 1,765 mm, and a height of 1,560 mm. The size is almost the same as the Yaris Cross. LBX is positioned as the smallest SUV, under the Lexus UX.
It is likely that the LBX Lexus will carry hybrid technology by combining a 1.5 liter VVT-i 3-cylinder combustion engine with an AWD or FWD drive system, which is capable of emitting 114 dk and 120 Nm of torque.
The LBX Lexus completed the SUV lineup of the Japanese luxury car manufacturer which had previously been filled by GX, RX, NX, UX, and the upcoming models TX.
