Medan City Government Completes Normalization Of 4,000 Meters Of Drainage
MEDAN - The City Government (Pemkot) of Medan, North Sumatra, continues to move in completing priority infrastructure improvement programs, including normalizing 4.000-meter-long drainage in the northern Medan area.
"The period 1 to 30 April was 4,000 meters of drainage on 13 roads normalized," said Head of the Medan City Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development Service (SDABMBK) Topan OP Ginting as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.
The drainage of the 13 roads, he continued, in the northern part of Medan which includes four sub-districts of Medan Deli, Medan Labuhan, Medan Marelan, and Medan Belawan.
The normalization of the Medan Deli drainage includes 640-meter-long Metal Raya Street, 460-meter Aluminum Street, and 80-meter-long Platina IV Road.
Then Medan Labuhan on three roads Jalan Tangguk Raya or Lake Laguna along 100 meters, Jalan Tempiral Lestari 200 meters and Jalan Jala Raya 10 meters.
Then Medan Marelan on Jalan Cerut with a length of 115 meters, Jalan Marelan I Pasar 4 Barat 165 meters and Jalan P Siombak 1.3 kilometers, and Medan Belawan on Jalan Tenggiri 1.05 kilometers and Jalan Kakap 250 meters.

"This work is carried out by the North Region Technical Implementation Unit, which is one of many programs to create Medan without flooding," he explained.
Data from the Medan City SDABMBK Service when it was still named the Medan City Public Works Service until the end of 2022 fixed 65 drainage points in the form of u-ditch installation to overcome flood inundation.
Now the expenditure of the Medan City SDABMBK Office, including road infrastructure improvement and drainage, has received a budget allocation of IDR 1.49 trillion out of a total of IDR 7.86 trillion from the Medan City Budget 2023.
