AHY: Indonesia Should No Longer Be A Field For Collision Of Identity Groups, Dangerous
Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized that his party's attitude in rejecting identity politics in the 2024 presidential election. Identity politics called AHY is dangerous in democracy.
"We have the hope that Indonesia will no longer be a field of conflict against groups, let alone identity groups, dangerous. We are nationalists, patriots who want to build the country. We strongly reject radicalism both on the right and left, because Indonesia belongs to all of us," said AHY after meeting with PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) in Cikeas, Bogor, quoted from Kompas TV's live broadcast, Wednesday, May 3.
AHY emphasized the agreement to maintain the 2024 election without intervention, intimidation and fraud.

"We agree, PKB, Democrats want to be a part so that elections, presidential elections, legislative elections without being colored by intervention, intimacy, let alone fraud. We must protect this together," said AHY. In the meeting, AHY emphasized that the two political parties, PKB and Democrats both have a desire to build a more advanced Indonesia. AHY does not question the difference in coalition positions between PKB and the current Democrats.
"Even though we are in different coalition buildings, we do not close the spirit of exchanging ideas. PKB together with the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition, Democrats with the Change Coalition," continued AHY.
