Avoid Congestion, Homecomers Are Urged To Return To Jakarta Simultaneously

JAKARTA - Entering the peak of the backflow of travelers, the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Latif Usman appealed not to travelers simultaneously return to Jakarta.

"According to the president's appeal, which is not important to go home now. Share - divided on April 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. The length of the time, not together so that we can urge the current situation," he told reporters, Tuesday, April 25.

Kombes Latif said that support and cooperation from the community is considered important so that vehicles want to enter the Inner City Toll Road, north JORR, south, there is no buildup.

"This will be smooth all of them. Please support the cooperation of the whole community," he said.

Previously, the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Karyoto, together with the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Latif Usman, directly inspected the traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on Monday, April 24.

Kombes Latif said the number of vehicles passing was still at 3000 vehicles per hour. Traffic leading to the Inner City Toll Road and the JORR Toll Road is still under control.

"Those who enter the city are still under control, entering Tanjung Priok, North JORR is also still under control, entering the South JORR towards Pondok Indah is also very under control," he said.

Kombes Latif explained, based on police officers' observations, there has been no congestion on the toll road to Jakarta. The police also continue to urge people who are tired not to stop on the shoulder of the road. Because, he continued, this often causes traffic jams.

Kombes Latif said the police were on standby if at any time there was a surge in the volume of vehicles that wanted to enter Jakarta. He ensured that the traffic flow ran smoothly without obstacles.

"If we receive a large flow, we are ready. Namely, we have prepared all toll gates for monitoring. After exiting the toll gate in the arteries we will arrange it in such a way, security will be tightened. So that there are no obstacles at all on this toll road," he said.

If necessary, said Latif, a contraflow will be carried out on the Inner City Toll Road to anticipate a surge in the volume of existing vehicles. If there is a buildup on the Inner City Toll Road, the vehicle will be directed to Tanjung Priok or Pondok Indah first.

"We distribute the average if the density occurs in the city, it will be thrown first to Tanjung Priok or towards Pondok Indah. Of course, there will be problems at the toll gate. We will add toll gate officers to the toll gate," he said.
