Police Raided House Of Online Firecracker Sellers In Tegal
Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H, the ranks of the Tegal City Police, Central Java, have again confiscated thousands of firecrackers ready for distribution from a seller in Tegal City, Sunday, April 16.
The Tegal City Police Chief through the Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Wibowo Saputra, said that his party managed to confiscate thousands of firecrackers from sellers in the Pesurungan area, Kidul Tegal Barat. They deliberately market it online through social media.
"We managed to confiscate 2,540 large Lion firecrackers and the reteng type from the TP (29) residents of Pesurungan Kidul. The person concerned deliberately markets firecrackers online through social media Facebook," said Kompol Wibowo Saputra through an official statement, received on Sunday, April 16.
Wibowo explained that the incident began with the Sat Samapta cyber team conducting monitoring in cyberspace. At that time, it was found that someone was offering firecrackers complete with his contact number. Following up on this information, Satsamapta together with the West Tegal Police moved to the location selling firecrackers.
"Armed with the information we got from Facebook, the team from the Satsamapta together with the West Tegal Police immediately moved to the location. And after we did the inspection, it was true that we found thousands of firecrackers ready for distribution with various types," explained the Deputy Chief of Police.
The Deputy Chief of Police emphasized that his party will continue to carry out raids until Eid al-Fitr 1444 H. With the hope that during the Eid al-Fitr celebration, Tegal City will really be zero (zero) firecrackers.
The Deputy Chief of Police also appealed to the people of Tegal City, especially the makers or sellers of firecrackers. It is better not to buy firecrackers anymore. Because apart from the sound that disturbs public order, firecrackers are also dangerous for yourself and others.
"Playing with firecrackers is very dangerous. Apart from being able to threaten the safety of life, dealers can also face criminal sanctions in accordance with Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning the misuse of explosives," he concluded.
