Apple Prepares Big Changes On IPhone 15, Solid-State Volume Button, USB-C Charging Port, And More

JAKARTA - Apple is rumored to be bringing some major changes to the upcoming iPhone 15. This was revealed from the leaks of new products that appeared.

Video footage from the iPhone 15 Pro "dummy" appeared in China's version of TikTok a few days ago, allowing potential buyers to see a bit of what's coming.

While the device may look quite similar to the previous iPhone 14 Pro, some major changes can be seen with further checks. The mute button appears to have been replaced with a solid-state volume button, which supports previous rumors.

It is estimated that this change will be similar to what is currently visible on the Apple Watch Ultra, which gives a pressing sensation without physical movement using haptic feedback. If proven true, this will be the first time Apple has changed the button since the launch of the iPhone in 2007, likely allowing users to set its sensitivity.

The device is also equipped with titanium frames and a USB-C charging port replacing the Lightning ports normally used.

The change in this charging port follows an earlier statement from Apple executive Greg Joswiak, who said the technology company should "comply" to the new USB law imposed by the European Union.

In this context, it is publicly known that the company is replacing its Lightning charging technology - recognized from eight pins - with USB-C in EU member states.

Previously, Joswiak said: "Of course, we have to comply; we have no choice, just like we do around the world to comply with local laws."

"But we think a better approach for our environment and customers is if the government doesn't provide such very specific rules," Joswiak said, quoted by DailyMail.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that some new Pro devices will probably be supported by USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, as reported by MacRumors.

It is estimated that this will allow more sophisticated devices to transfer data faster than standard models.

In terms of cameras, the model in the video appears to retain the three rear lenses visible on the iPhone 14 Pro.

At this time, it is not clear whether the "dummy" is in accordance with the actual size or appearance of the iPhone that we may see in the next few months.
