Deputy Minister Of Religion Invite Palestinian Students Who Want To Study In Indonesia, All Open To Palestine

Deputy Minister of Religion (Wamenag) Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi said Islamic boarding schools and religious universities in this country are always open to Palestinian students who want to gain knowledge in Indonesia.

"We open opportunities for Palestinian students who want to continue their education in our country. We have more than 50 state religious universities, 650 private religious universities, and more than 30 thousand Islamic boarding schools," said Zainut Tauhid in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Zainut made this statement when receiving a visit from Palestinian Presidential Advisor for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbasy, at the Head Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, Jakarta.

The Deputy Minister of Religion welcomed Mahmoud Al-Habbasy's visit with the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al-Shun. The meeting will further strengthen brotherhood between the two countries.

"We, the Indonesian nation, continue to strive for independence over Palestine," he said.

The Deputy Minister of Religion also said that the Indonesian constitution requires the Indonesian government and people to continue to support the independence of the Palestinian state.

"We Indonesian people will continue to provide support in the form of diplomacy and in the form of real assistance. Helping a Palestinian country is an obligation of the constitution that we must carry out," he said.

On that occasion, Palestinian Presidential Advisor to Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbasy expressed his gratitude and respect to the Indonesian government and people for all their support and assistance for Palestinian independence.

"We express our gratitude to the government and the people of Indonesia. Palestine has great respect for the policies and support that Indonesia has given to humanitarian issues in Palestine," he said.

Mahmoud hopes that the efforts of the Indonesian government will continue to be carried out through diplomatic channels and international forums.
