BPJPH Halal Laboratory Receives SNI Test Laboratory Accreditation Certificate

JAKARTA - Halal Laboratory of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) received an Accreditation Certificate of the SNI ISO/IEC Test Laboratory 17025: 2017. Handed over directly by the Chairman of the Kukuh National Accreditation Committee (KAN) S Achmad to the Head of BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham in conjunction with the opening of the Pratama Halal Examination Coordination Meeting (LPH).

Head of BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham said that BPJPH had been preparing for accreditation certificates since early 2022, starting with benchmarks to IPB laboratories and sharing knowledge and experience, then we submitted a letter for accreditation and continued to complete some of the required equipment.

"Alhamdulillah, tonight we received an accreditation certificate for SNI ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 which we have actually initiated and prepared through document fulfillment and adjustments to the standard testing method, Alhamdulillah we have received this accreditation certificate," said Aqil in Bandung, Monday, April 10.

Aqil also said that the BPJPH Halal Laboratory has a special function. Untuk diketahui Laboratory Halal BPJPH bukan hanya untuk uji appellate, selain itu juga digunakan untuk menentukan standar dan sebagai laboratorium pembinaan serta laboratorium pengawasan, tambahnya.

Head of the National Standardization Agency (BSN) as well as chairman of the Kukuh National Accreditation Committee (KAN) S. Achmad appreciated Mr. Aqil's BPJPH for the acceptance of this Accreditation Certificate. Congratulations BPJPH for meeting competency standards as a laboratory, it is my intention if the BPJPH laboratory has an accreditation certificate submission, I will be present in person because this is a historical record for Indonesia, especially the halal ecosystem", said Kukuh.

Kukuh also said that after receiving an accreditation, the results of BPJPH testing will get international recognition. This is marked by the presence of 2 logos on the accreditation certificate, in addition to the ILAC MRA logo as well. The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) is an international organization for accreditating bodies operating according to ISO/IEC 17011 and a fit assessment institution.

"Of the 35 schemes owned by BSN/KAN, 15 of them have received international recognition, one of which is the standard test laboratory scheme, meaning that the results of testing the halal laboratory are recognized internationally, including supporting the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) process around the world," he continued.

"I advise BPJPH to apply 3 keywords, namely competence, consistency, and imparity because this is very important for laboratory success in operational implementation," he added.

Also present at the awarding of accreditation to BPJPH was the Director of Laboratory Accreditation of BSN/KAN Agustinus Praba Drijarkara, Secretary of BPJPH EA Chuzaemi Abidin, Head of the Center for Development and Supervision JPH Dzikro, Head of the Center for Halal Cooperation and Standardiation Abd. Syakur and 45 LPH of the pre-mains of all Indonesia.
