Miguel Hopes To Be Anxious Ahead Of Austin MotoGP
JAKARTA - CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team, Miguel Oliveira, is rumored to be racing at Austin MotoGP, United States, this weekend. However, he still had to undergo a medical test before getting permission.
He had to go through a series of tests in order to be declared fit to return to the track and race at the COTA Circuit.
Oliveira herself is very excited to travel to the United States. Moreover, he had already missed the previous race in Argentina.
"I'm obviously excited to start a trip to the United States. It's a shame I had to miss the Argentine GP, but I'm really looking forward to starting work with the team again and driving my bike again on this track," Oliveira said, as quoted from the official MotoGP website, via Antara, Tuesday, April 11.
The Portuguese racer suffered a tendon injury to his right leg after colliding with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) and Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) in the first round of MotoGP in Portugal.
The incident occurred when the three riders were fighting for the podium position. As a result, Oliveira was forced to miss the Argentine GP after being declared unsuitable after the accident.
Furthermore, Oliveira hopes to be declared fully recovered this week. He admits he can't wait to return to riding Aprilia RS-GP and a race with its competitors aboard the Circuit of the Americas track this weekend.
"It wasn't an easy track for me in the past, so I hope this year I can start turning things around and starting the weekend strong," Oliveira said.
"Scoring points in Sprint and the main race will be very fun and of course it's important after basically not being able to do anything on the last three chances. So, overall, I'm very excited!" he added.
Austin MotoGP will take place on April 14-16 local time. In Indonesia, the Sprint race will be available on Sunday, April 16, at 03.00 WIB, while the main race can be watched on Monday, April 17, at 02.00 WIB.
