The Beauty Of Tolerance, Kupang Christian-Muslim Youth Creates A Replica Of Bukit Golgota

JAKARTA - A number of Christian and Muslim youths calling themselves Poco-Poco Namosain Youths in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara work hand in hand to build a replica of Bukit Golgota, where Jesus and two thieves.

Marthen Lenggu, one of the community leaders in Namosain Village, in Kupang, Friday, April 7, said that his party as the head of the village only supported what was initiated by the youth at the location.

"This of course shows that our beloved Kupang City tolerates religious people very high, especially when initiated by its youth," he said, quoted from ANTARA

A number of youths who built the hill replicas, he said, were a combination of the two RTs in the village and also a youth community from various religions.

He added that the youths at the location were often involved together in various activities, including in the momentum of celebrating religious holidays in Kupang City.

"Well, this time they built a replica for the golgota hill, next week this same location will be changed to welcome Eid al-Fitr," he said.

According to ANTARA's monitoring, almost all roads in Kupang City have replicas of Bukit Golgota with three towering crosses. Around the hill there are youths and parents and children playing together.

Not only that, it is unique again in Fatufeto Village, Kupang City, all Christians and Muslims, even Hindu Buddhists, made a replica of Bukit Golgota and beside him was placed in bedug with congratulations on Eid al-Fitr.

The coordinator in Fatufeo Village Boy Laa said that the involvement of Christians and Muslims in religious activities is not only at this time, but has often happened.

"We want to show that actually religious tolerance has been established in this area for a long time, not just at this time," he said.

Munawar, a Muslim figure in the area, assessed that with joint activities like this, harmony between religious communities will continue to be well established.
