Bamsoet Invites Japanese Ambassador To Develop And Re-LARge Sentul International Circuit
BOGOR - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly and Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) are exploring cooperation with the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia HE Mr. Kanasugi Kenji.
The cooperation is for business to business investment between Sentul International Circuit management and various Japanese automotive and manufacturing companies, as well as the Sister Circuit between Sentul International Circuit and the Suzuka International Circuit, Japan.
The initial target is for Sentul International Circuit to obtain Grade Two certification from the FIA and FIM so that they can hold various racing activities from regional, national, to international levels. For example, prestigious world racing championships such as the World Endurance Championship, World Touring Car Championship, to the GP3 Series.
"Then it is improved again so that it can get Grade One, both from FIA and FIM, so that it can organize F1 and MotoGP. Thus, Indonesia can have three great international circuits, Sentul in West Java, Mandalika in Lombok NTB and Bintan, Riau Islands. Especially for MotoGP, it can be held in Indonesia twice. For example, at the beginning of the year in Mandalika, and at the end of the year in Sentul," said Bamsoet after inviting the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia HE Mr. Kanasugi Kenji to visit Sentul International Circuit, in Bogor, Wednesday, April 5.
Bamsoet added, Sentul International Circuit has had emotional and spiritual ties with various Japanese automotive companies. Various national racing championship events held at the Sentul International Circuit, mostly won by Japanese manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Mazda. Sentul International Circuit has also been a test product location for various automotive companies from Japan several times.
By investing in the development of the Sentul International Circuit, various automotive and manufacturing companies from Japan and the management of the Sentul International Circuit have implemented an automotive diplomatic sport which is a new breakthrough in improving bilateral relations between Indonesia and Japan.
"Through this collaboration, various automotive and manufacturing companies from Japan can present Toyota Tribune, Honda Lounge, and Daihatsu Corner in the Sentul International Circuit area. Besides being able to take advantage of the Sentul International Circuit area for various automotive activities needed by manufacturers. Such as test drives, test products, quality tests, test speeds, to gatherings, and various other automotive activities," explained Bamsoet.
Furthermore, according to Bamsoet, the Sentul International Circuit area has a land area of up to 75 hectares. The potential for business development is extraordinary. In addition to being used for racing events that bring tourists, this cool Sentul International Circuit area can also be developed for various commercial and entertainment activities. Moreover, the location is very strategic and easy to access, only about 45 minutes from the city center of Jakarta and from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, as well as an hour from Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
"The Sentul International Circuit management also has a wealth of experience in organizing various international races. Among others, World Superbike in 1994,1995,1996, and 1997, MotoGP in 1996 and 1997, A1 Grand Prix in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, as well as the Asia Talent Cup in 2014. Therefore, through collaboration with automotive and manufacturing companies from Japan with the support of the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia HE Mr. Kanasugi Kenji, we hope that the glory of Sentul International Circuit can be revived.
