Increase Comfort On The Pansela Line, KPUPR Build Bridges And Rest Areas In DIY
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR has completed a work package for the Kretek 2 Bridge located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The bridge construction work with a total length of 2.6 km handling stretches over the Opak River and connects Tirtohargo Village with Parangtritis Village.
This bridge is part of the Java Southern Cross Road (JLLS), also known as the 1,604 km South Coast (Pansela) route, which is known for its coastal tourism area, which runs from Banten Province to East Java Province.
In the work package, the Kretek 2 Bridge was also built as well as the Rest Area Girisubo Swanayasa which is located in Gunungkidul Regency covering an area of 7,340 square meters and about 82 km from Parangtritis Beach and 32 km from Wonosari Regency. The journey to the rest rea crosses several beautiful panoramic beaches in the southern coastal area.
Head of the Central Java-DIY National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN), Directorate General of Highways Wida Nurfaida hopes that the construction of the Girisubo Swanayasa Rest Area can increase economic potential for the surrounding community.
"Hopefully, tourists or travelers who go through the Pansela route will be able to rest here and can increase economic potential for the surrounding community," Wida said in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, April 5.
Rest Area Girisubo Swanayasa is equipped with a parking area with a capacity of six large vehicles, 24 cars, and 44 motorbikes. In the Limasan 1 and Limasan 2 buildings, dine-in areas with a capacity of 120 and 86 seats, ATM centers, Souvenir Toko, Tenant F&B, toilets, and operational offices are provided. Also Kids Area and 4 VIP Rooms are provided.
"There are also 60-seat amphitheaters for cultural events, such as secondary, and we provide exhibition space so that local craftsmen can take part in exhibitions," said Wida.
Meanwhile, during his working visit to Central Java and DIY Provinces, on Monday, April 3, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono appreciated the construction of the Girisubo Swanayasa Rest Area. "It's good. Please give a sign or umbul-umbulan so that it can be seen. Then, a signage is added that shows the location of prayer rooms, toilets, culinary centers and others," he said.
Basuki said that the increase in connectivity on the Pansela Java track is expected to increase tourism potential in the southern coastal area and facilitate connectivity in the southern part of Java Island, so that it can reduce gaps with the North Coast (Pantura) area, which has more advanced economic potential.
"We continue to promote the Pansela Jawa route so that people are interested in going south, because not only the road is good, but also has beautiful views (panoramic roads) and there are many tourist attractions," he said.
In the future, said Basuki, his party will coordinate and cooperate with local governments regarding operational monitoring of rest areas and the development of local products. "There will also be routine activity programs in accordance with the cultural and economic potential of the community to increase visits," he concluded.
