"Yes, 2,000 hectares are good, so the 6,600 hectares that can be built are approximately 3,000 hectares, which we call the 1A 900 hectares, 1B 500 hectares, and 1C 300 hectares. Later, the rest will be green areas," Dhony told reporters. met at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday, April 3.

According to Dhony, of the total IKN development, 65 percent of the green plants will be built, because the new capital city is designed as a forest city.

"Because it is 65 percent green, we are smart, sustainable, and forest city, so there will be a lot of forest from urban areas, that's a flaws," he said.

In a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission II of the DPR RI, on Monday, April 3, the Head of the IKN Authority explained that it was related to the land acquisition process at IKN which was carried out with two mechanisms, namely the release of forest areas carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), as well as land acquisition through the Ministry of PUPR and ATR/BPN.

In this case, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry plays a role in releasing a forest area of 36,150.03 hectares to the IKN Authority. This decision is stipulated in the Decree on the Release of the SK Forest Area. 1354/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA.2/12/2023.
