In addition, floods hit several villages in the South Coast Regency area, inundating the residential area of residents and the West Sumatra-Bengkulu highway. According to reports submitted to BPBD, as many as 140 houses were inundated due to floods that hit the Nyalo River Nagari in Koto Tarusan District, after heavy rains that fell since Friday, March 23 afternoon. Banjir also hit Nagari Tapan in Basa Ampek Balai Tapan District and parts of the North Coast District area. Meanwhile, a tornado hit Lubuk Begalung Village in South Lakitan Nagari, Lengayang District, South Coast District, resulting in two houses being heavily damaged and five houses with minor damage. In Padang City, strong winds caused trees to fall, but did not cause casualties. Arry reminded BPBD district/city levels to coordinate with BPBD provincial levels in dealing with the impact of disasters.
The West Sumatra Provincial BPBD, according to him, is ready to send a team and assistance to support the handling of the impact of natural disasters in districts/cities. Arry also reminded residents to increase vigilance during bad weather. "The weather forecast from BMKG can be a reference to increase vigilance," he said.
