COVID-19 Update As Of March 23: New Cases Increase By 304, Active Cases Now 4,178

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today, Thursday, March 23. Of the 10,267 specimens examined, there were 304 new cases added.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,742,814 people and active cases have increased by 304 to 4,178 cases," said COVID-19 Task Force data, Thursday, March 23.

Today's recovered cases increased by 244 people so that a total of 6,577,652 people recovered. Meanwhile, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 2 cases and the total was 160,977 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 150 cases and a total of 1,545,019 cases.

Followed by West Java which has 57 new cases with a total of 1,238,021 cases. Banten has 33 new cases and a total of 367,066 cases and East Java has 22 new cases and a total of 638,665 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases today is DKI Jakarta with 92 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with the addition of 41 recovered cases, Banten with 32 recovered cases, and East Java with 26 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 115,809,823.

"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 1.69 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 579 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 203,820,722 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,849,639 of the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination has been given as many as 63,603,647 and the fourth dose is 3,056,202. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
