Assessed As Successful In Managing Zakat For The People, Ganjar Is Rewarded With Awards

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has made another achievement. Ganjar received an award as the Main Supporting Governor for Zakat Management in Indonesia.

This achievement was given by Baznas Republik Indonesia to Ganjar Pranowo during the Baznas Award 2023, at the Grand Sahid Hotel Jakarta, Monday, March 21. Also at the event, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, a number of ministers, and other regional heads.

Ganjar received an award for being considered successful in managing zakat for the benefit of the people. Since being proclaimed by Ganjar in 2014, the Central Java Baznas program has continued to increase. In 2022, Central Java Baznas has been able to collect IDR 82 billion and has been distributed to people in need.

Actually, the award was for the Central Java Baznas management, not for me. Because I'm not too special, the great ones are friends," said Ganjar, after receiving the award.

Even so, Ganjar said, this achievement was not obtained suddenly. However, through a long process since the beginning he served as governor of Central Java.

"This is not yesterday's job, but work since 2014, where every year there are always governor instructions that discuss them, Baznas administrators provide recommendations to us, how to optimize, how to enter the payroll system, until then the renewal stage," he explained.

Central Java Baznas, Ganjar continued, is indeed an example for other regions. Even during the event, there was Baznas from Palu who wanted to ask Ganjar for help, both direct assistance and assistance and management.

"I say we can definitely do it, because this is a condition that there is no territory. Then I asked why we didn't explore the potential there. They answered we weren't optimal. So in addition to the proposal to be submitted to the Central Java Baznas, they also want to learn how to manage it," he said.

Management of Baznas in Central Java is not only for consumptive needs, but also for productive things such as additional capital, training, and others.

"So today Baznas is a strength for the people for the people. There are many things that can be done, as the Vice President ordered us to overcome extreme poverty, even stunting. Now in us, this Baznas is what we optimize, we always invite together," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Central Java Baznas, KH Ahmad Darodji, who was also present at the event, said the award would be a motivation for the Central Java Baznas to get better.

"And we are very grateful to the Governor, because he always encouraged us to be even better. Central Java Baznas can be as successful as it is today, yes, for Pak Ganjar's encouragement," he explained.

Darodji explained that in the past the Central Java Baznas could only collect several million rupiahs. However, when Ganjar took the lead, Baznas could collect up to tens of billions of rupiah.

"That's because Pak Ganjar supports all of our activities. He makes rules with a payroll system, so direct deductions and ASN agree. So the number increases and we are sure that in 2023 it can reach Rp. 100 billion," he explained.
