Ahead Of The 2023 Eid Homecoming Flow, Halim Airport Performs Runway Maintenance
JAKARTA - Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Manager, East Jakarta, carries out runway maintenance ahead of the 2023 Eid transportation period.
The runway maintenance will be carried out on 22-28 March 2023 starting at 18.00-05.00 WIB in accordance with Notice to Airmen (Notam) A0782/23. The maintenance period for the six days will be evaluated as needed.
Director General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation Maria Kristi Endah Murni said the runway maintenance was carried out to meet aspects of flight safety to support the smooth air transportation of Lebaran 2023.
The time for the runway maintenance is excluded for VVIP flights and if there are other urgent flights and for support for the interests of the state.
In this regard, Kristi requested that first coordination be carried out with Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
"Maintaining this runway certainly has an impact on several flights, so it requires optimal and efficient aircraft rotational arrangements and passenger service handling," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 19.
Halim Perdanakusuma Airport continues to serve flights on routes that are not served from/to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) such as Halim-Malang, Halim-Bengkulu, Halim-Ngloram, and Halim-Yogyakarta.
For routes that are also served by Soekarno-Hatta Airport, mitigation will be carried out in the form of an extra flight application mechanism to accommodate additional requests caused by the transfer of flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Kristi also asked airport organizers and flight navigation organizers to pay attention to the distribution of slot times so as not to become additional runway loads.
In addition, according to him, air transportation business entities are asked to immediately take steps related to handling passenger services that already have tickets for affected flights, including sending immediate notifications to passengers through various information channels and ensuring the fulfillment of obligations to consumer protection principles.
Then, provide convenience for the option of returning full air transportation service fees (full refund), rescheduling flights (reschedule), transferring flights from/to CGK (reroute) without being charged in accordance with statutory provisions and reporting regularly to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation regarding mitigation of passenger handling.
"I have ordered all flight operators to be fast and responsive in handling passenger services affected by the maintenance of the runway," said Kristi.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, he said, will continue to monitor and collaborate with aviation stakeholders during the maintenance period of the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport runway to ensure the availability of connectivity on affected routes so that they remain served through Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
