Trying To Enter The US Electric Car Market, 3 Leaders Of VinFast Vietnam Instead Leave
JAKARTA - Three high-ranking VinFast officials left the Vietnamese car manufacturer on Friday, March 17, 2023.
The three of them are Gareth Dunsmore resigning from Deputy CEO, Global Sales and Marketing VinFast, Greg Tebbutt from Chief Marketing Officer, and Craig Westbrook from Service Officer.
Quoted from Reuters, Friday, March 17, 2023, VinFast stated that the departure of the high-ranking officials was due to changes to the executive ranks shortly from the delay in the launch of VinFast's electric car in the United States (US).
In addition to changing management models, the three of them left due to certain business requirements.
This is not the first time in less than a year that VinFast officials have resigned.
Previously, Emmanuel Bret left the position of Deputy CEO, Global Sales & Marketing last June which was replaced by Dunsmore.
Former Engineering General Motors, Huy Chieu, who took office in June to lead the development of VinFast's electric vehicle, also stepped down last December, before VinFast's first car was delivered to the US.
VinFast also has three CEOs since its establishment in 2017. The manufacturer plans to build a factory in North Carolina and has submitted to list its shares through an initial public offering (IPO) in the US.
The Vietnamese company is looking for an entrance to the US electric car industry as its competitor, Tesla, lowers prices and prepares to introduce its newest model.
