Jokowi Kunker To Papua, 3,600 TNI-Polri Personnel Deployed For Security

JAKARTA - A total of 3,600 joint TNI-Polri personnel were deployed to secure a working visit (kunker) of President Joko Widodo to three regencies in Papua. Korem 172/PWY Commander Brigadier General JO Sembiring said thousands of these officers were deployed during President Jokowi's office which was scheduled to start Monday, March 21. The president is scheduled to visit Jayapura City and Regency as well as Keerom Regency, Papua Province. While in Papua, President Jokowi is scheduled to inaugurate the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) located in the Jayapura Township area. When asked about the security situation of Danrem 172/PWY stated that the security situation was especially in areas visited by conducive coaches. "Let us together welcome the presence of the President, especially the PYCH modified building which will be inaugurated is a place for Papuan youth to work through their respective numbers," said Sembiring in Jayapura, Papua, Sunday 19 March.

The PYCH that President Jokowi will inaugurate is built on an area of 15 thousand square meters equipped with main buildings, dormitories, landscapes, sports fields, utility buildings, parking, guard posts. The design used, namely the traditional houses of the people of Jayapura City and Wamena, namely the Honai roof and the Kariwari roof. The PYCH building is built with traditional nuances and has facilities to support the interests, talents and creativity of young people in the Land of Papua.
