Searching The Gorontalo Prison Residential Block, Joint Team Finds This
GORONTALO - In order to welcome the 59th Correctional Service Day, a joint team consisting of the Correctional Division of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Correctional Institutions (Lapas), TNI, Polri and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) conducted a search of the residential blocks of correctional inmates at the Class IIA Prison in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province.
During this search, the Head of the Correctional Division of the Gorontalo Province Kemenkumham Regional Office, Bagus Kurniawan, in Gorontalo, said early Saturday that the joint team found a number of items that should not be in residential rooms, including fans, spoons, matches, silets, shaving tools, and iron bolts.
"There are no things that are very burdensome, there are only tablespoons that are folded, not necessarily sharp weapons, then match lighters, shaving tools and so on. In addition, there are cables that we immediately destroy," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 18.
Bagus added, the search went smoothly according to standard operating procedures carried out, orderly and humane. During the search, no communication tools such as cell phones, drugs and other illegal drugs were found.
In addition to the search, he said, the Correctional Division of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Gorontalo and the Gorontalo City BNN gave lectures to 75 inmates in the prison.
"We also conducted random urine tests on 25 inmates and 10 prison officers, all of whose results were negative and there were no indications that they were abusing drugs," he concluded.
