Ferrari Introduces Roma Open Roof Version, Speeds While Enjoying The Wind

JAKARTA - The Italian car manufacturer Ferrari has just launched its first Ferrari Roma "open roof" variant since the 2010 Ferrari 430 Spider.

Known as the Ferrari Roma Spider, the car took inspiration from the Ferrari Portofino M. Roma Spider to be reworked on the back by pairing the same carbon fiber tub as the coup variant.

There are additions in some parts such as roof retraction, wind deflector, and head support that blends with the back seat. Another addition is that Roma Spider is wearing a soft top. It is known that Roma Spider is a Ferrari car roofing a tarpaulin (soft-top) with the first front engine since the 1969 365 GTS4 model.

Soft-tops are made of five-layer cloth that can be opened within 13.5 seconds while the car is traveling at speeds of up to 60 km/hour.

Ferrari Roma Spider still uses the same machine specifications as the coup variant. Equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 coupled to an eight-speed double-coupling automatic gearbox, it can generate a power of 620 dk.

It is believed that although traveling with an open roof that can affect aerodynamics in cars, it is possible that the Ferrari Roma Spider will still match the Coupe speed which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 3.4 seconds and can speed up to 320 km/hour.

Ferrari has yet to announce its price tag. However, it is possible that this version of Spider will be more expensive when compared to Coupe which can sell more than 170,000 pounds or the range exceeding Rp3.1 billion.
