Ford Recalls 1.2 Million Fusion Units And Lincoln MKZ, Constrained By Braking Problems

JAKARTA - The recall or mass recall occurred again at Ford. This time the models affected by the recall are Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ.

The number of vehicles affected is 1,280,726 units. The withdrawal was caused by problems on the front brake. Currently, Ford is not aware of any injuries to consumers, but one accident case has been recorded.

The withdrawal of the two models includes production mode from 2013 to 2018, and it looks like not all cars can be recalled within a certain period of time.

The American Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) said that only non-hybrid vehicles were at risk. Ford recalled 1,167,825 Fusions and Lincoln MKZ 112,901 units.

The main problem lies in the front brake hose, as well as the rubber hose that connects the metal brake channel to the Kaliper. This interval can break at any time when experiencing repeated movement of the suspension and steering.

During the testing period, damage to the hose caused by suspension movement affected as much as 88 percent. The problem has been reported. However, the total failure of the braking system will not occur immediately.

On the Fusion and MKZ brakes, these two cars have many circuits which means the brakes can still work if there is damage as explained.

Ford will address this issue by simply replacing the front tube and the brakes are checked. The new interval will use strengthened materials, and explains consumers are free of charge.
