Safety Belt Problem, Honda Pulls 450,000 Vehicles
Honda announced a recall of around 450,000 vehicles due to seat belts. It was reported that the problem with the seat belt could cause the seat belt to be unlocked properly. This is certainly very dangerous for the driver and passenger in the vehicle.
Vehicles affected by this problem are in the United States. Quoted from Carscoops, March 16, the recall includes several Honda models produced between 2017-2020 including Honda CR-V, Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Insight, and Acura RDX.
Honda reported for the first time learned of this issue in June 2019 and immediately opened an investigation. Just a year later, they found out what happened, and began to see how widely the problem had an effect on vehicles on the ground.
As of March 3, 2023, Honda has also received 301 guarantee claims between March 2019 and January 2023 for this matter, but fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths related to the matter.
Honda has also sent a letter to the owner of the vehicle that was hit by the problem, suggesting vehicle owners immediately take their vehicle to Honda's official workshop for inspection and repair and ensuring that repair costs will be borne by the company.
