Desperately Breaking Through The Train Doorstop, Motorcyclists Died Of Being Hit By A Train Up To 5 Meters
JAKARTA - A man with the initials HW, a resident of Tambora, was found dead on the Angke railroad, Jalan P. Tubagus Angke, Pekojan Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta on Saturday, March 11. The victim died after being struck by a train.
Tambora Police Chief Kompol Putra Pratama said the incident began when the victim HW rode a motorcycle type duck with number B 6040 BKK from Jalan PTB Angke towards Jembatan Lima. However, when he was about to cross the railroad crossing, the doorstop was closed.
"The victim continued to break through so that the victim and his motorbike bounced up to 5 meters due to being hit by the train," said Kompol Putra when contacted, Sunday, March 12.
Residents have also shouted at the victim before being hit by the train. Residents asked the victim to immediately avoid it, but the victim did not heed the warning so that the victim was hit by a train.
"The train came from the direction of Angke Station to Kampung Bandan and resulted in the victim's death on the spot with a torn head wound," he said.
The case of a motorcycle accident being hit by a train was handled by the West Jakarta Regional Traffic Unit. Meanwhile, Kompol Putra appealed to residents to always obey traffic regulations and stop when the railroad gate was closed.
"Violations are not only dangerous for oneself but also dangerous and harm others. Be patient in driving, prioritize the safety of yourself and others," he appealed.
Confirmed separately, Head of Public Relations of KAI Daop 1 Eva Chairunnisa said the incident did not have an impact on the train and Daop 1 trips in Jakarta, deeply regretted the incident.
"We ask the public to follow the rules in accordance with Law 23 of 2007 so as not to do activities around the rail line, not to create crossings or crossings of a wild field for the sake of mutual safety and security," he said.
