100 Houses Will Be Managed For Relocation Of Residents Affected By Natuna Landslides
JAKARTA - The government will prepare a relocation program for affected residents and those in landslide-prone zones on Serasan Island, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, March 10, in the relocation program, the government will build approximately 100 houses.
There will be a relocation program. Even though only 30 families have been directly affected. But because it is in the red zone, according to the BMKG, for the time being, around 100 houses will be relocated," said Muhadjir.
Muhadjir Effendy inspected the affected locations and several evacuations on Serasan Island, Friday (10/3), together with the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, Minister of Public Works and Public Works (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuldjono, Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Dwikorita Karnawati and Member of Commission V DPR RI Cen Sui Lan.
During the review, Muhadjir and his entourage found that the basic stock needed by the refugees was adequate and sufficient for the next one or two weeks. According to him, disaster emergency management on Tuesday is getting better.
"I've checked for the availability of materials for clothing, food for the next week is safe," explained Muhadjir.
Muhadjir gave his appreciation to all elements of the regional government, the private sector, the community and related parties who have helped in accelerating the handling of landslides on Serasan Island, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands.
"I thank you for the assistance from all parties. Both from government and private elements as well as residents of the Natuna Regency who really gave empathy not only for words but also for concrete actions," he said.
