PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir's Busy Schedule Ahead Of The 2023 U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick Thohir will face a busy schedule ahead of the 2023 U-20 World Cup in May-June. Throughout March, he had to realize various agendas.

The first agenda that will be carried out by Erick Thohir is to directly review the six provinces that will be the location for the 2023 U-20 World Cup matches. The man who is also the Minister of SOEs will review the readiness of the main stadium and assistants starting Saturday, March 11.

"Tomorrow I want to start a visit to South Sumatra, then Bandung, Solo, Bali. Monday I will go to East Java, then Jakarta," explained Erick Thohir about his busy schedule at a press conference at the GBK Arena, Senayan on Friday, March 10 evening WIB.

In the provincial review agenda, Erick Thohir is not alone. He said he would be accompanied by officials and representatives from the province he visited.

"Tomorrow, Mr. Herman Deru will be present as Governor of South Sumatra, in Bandung, Mr. Ridwan Kamil will also attend. Later in Solo, Mr. Gibran will also be present," he continued.

This review agenda was carried out by Erick Thohir as an effort to avoid deleting two of the six stadiums that are the venues for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. Previously, FIFA had stated that it would audit the six stadiums on March 21-27.

So far, the six stadiums that have been proposed for the 2023 U-20 World Cup venue are Gelora Bung Karno (Jakarta) Main Stadium, Jakabaring (Palembang), Si Jalak Harupat (Bandung), Manahan (Solo), Gelora Bung Tomo (Surabaya), and Captain I Wayan Dipta (Bali).

Not only making visits to review the 2023 U-20 World Cup venue, Erick Thohir's solid agenda will continue with a visit to Rwanda, Africa on Monday, March 14.

Accompanied by several Exco, Erick Thohir and his entourage representing PSSI in Rwanda to attend the FIFA Congress agenda which will take place on Wednesday, March 16 in the city of Kigali.

After returning from Rwanda, Erick will immediately attend the National Football Sarasehan with League 3 club and PSSI Provincial Association (Asprov). Erick will also watch the Indonesian national team trial match.

"On 19th, there was sarasehan with Asprov-Asprov because under Asprov there was coaching," said Erick Thohir.

Erick Thohir's last agenda will take place at the end of March. The agenda is the draw or draw for the 2023 U-20 World Cup group in Bali.

"Then on the 31st there will be a draw in Bali for U-20. So the time is really tight and ask for support," he concluded.
