Entering School 5.30, Surya Paloh Defends Cadres And Positively Welcomes NTT Governor Viktor Laiskodat's Policy
Chairman of the NaDem Party, Surya Paloh, assessed positively the policy of the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor B Laiskodat, who is a cadre regarding the implementation of school entry at 05.30 WITA for high school/vocational school children.
"He may be testing it, I just think positively," said Surya Paloh at NasDem Tower, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 10.
According to him, each region has its own unique character, so the effectiveness of one policy and another cannot be generalized between regions.
He assessed that Viktor also considered this in imposing school entry at 05.30 WITA for high school/vocational school students in his area.
"It's not like other fish barns, maybe it's not suitable if it's applied in Jakarta, but maybe it fits in NTT, you know, don't get me wrong. He must see what this is," he said.
For this reason, he said again, to be able to see whether the effective school entry policy at 05.30 WITA itself can be seen from the trial process, which can be used as an evaluation material for Viktor.
"If perhaps it is detrimental to him, what will it be? As a trial project, he might say, but if he doesn't succeed, he will learn from that failure," he said.
Paloh said that the implementation of the school entry policy at 05.30 WITA could also bring effectiveness to the development of student discipline.
"But if we succeed, we can all get good value, because it builds ethos, maybe yes," he said.
Paloh also admitted that he still saw the effectiveness of the implementation of the school entry policy at 05.30 WITA. He suggested that it would be even better if the policy of entering school was advanced to at least 06.00 WITA.
"If it goes up a little from five to six, it will be even more stable," said Paloh.
Previously, NTT Governor Viktor B. Laiskodat in a meeting with a number of teachers and school principals at the NTT Education Office issued a fairly controversial policy and caused reactions from the public regarding the implementation of school hours starting at 05.00 WITA for SMA/SMK in Kupang.
Along the way, the policy changed from 05.00 to 05.30 WITA and is valid to date.
