2024 Becomes A New Era Of Electric Mini Cooper

JAKARTA - Mini Cooper is one of the most popular cars and is also in the ranks of vehicles with the most sales in the world.

Now in 2024, Mini will release the latest Cooper. Reportedly, this latest model will be available in the gasoline and Electric Vehicle (EV) variant. This Mini Cooper EV is planned to be the successor to the future Cooper model.

According to the Mini Group Chief, Stefanie Wurst, when it launches it will mark a new era of Mini which turns into a 100 percent electric car in the future.

"This is the beginning of a new era. The range of 100 percent Mini electricity must start somewhere and as a bridge for us to become fully electric," he said as quoted by Autocar, Tuesday, March 7.

This latest Cooper model is called different from before. For example, the larger wheel size and longer wheelbase made the car more stable to drive.

At the DRL (Daytime Running Lights) light, Mini offers a newer design. This also adds to the renewal of Mini Cooper since it was owned by German automotive company BMW in 2000.

Then to distinguish the two new Cooper variants that are fueled with gasoline and electricity can be found in the exhaust pipe. For those fueled, it will be produced with five doors or possibly a drop-top feature.

The standard version of the Mini Cooper EV is claimed to be able to emit 183 dk of power. As for the SE variant, it can emit 217 dk of power. Mini Cooper EV can be a competitor to Fiat 500 Electric, which is equipped with a pair of large battery options, namely 40 kWh at Electric and 54 kWh at SE.

Especially at the Mini Cooper EV, it is rumored that it will be produced in China along with business partner, Great Wall Motors. The plan is that the standard version of the electric Mini Cooper will be valued at 30,000 pounds, equivalent to Rp547 million. And when compared to the current model it costs 29,000 pounds, or around Rp472 million.
