Mercedes Releases New Maybach, This Time With Plug-In Hybrid

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Maybach ranks of Mercy's luxury products. Previously, in 2015 this luxury sedan was designed to deal with Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII.

After experiencing several developments, Mercedes removed its first plug-in hybrid version of Maybach, S 580 e PHEV. This latest model is rumored to be the first step for Mercedes-Maybach to enter the electrification era.

The long-dimensional luxury hybrid car will be launched in stages in China, Thailand, and then Europe. Mercedes claims that the S580e can go from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and is capable of traveling at a maximum speed of 250 km/hour.

Well, without relying on hybrid modules, the maximum power output S 580 e PHEV is in the range of 367 HP with a maximum torque of 500 Nm from a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder gasoline engine.

Then the additional hybrid module electric motor can provide an additional 148 cellphones and an additional 440 Nm torque. And the combination of the gasoline and hybrid motorcycle engine produces a total output of 503 hp with a torque of 750 Nm.

Of course, this power is very large for the car which is also large. The battery itself is also quite large for PHEV (28.6 kWh) but can be filled quickly in about half an hour. The S 580 e PHEV is claimed to be able to go as far as 100 km with this range of electricity alone.
