Vice President: Find Moderate Islamic Understanding In The Middle East Can't Be Found, It's In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin said that not a few people in the world seek understanding of moderate Islam and can only find in Indonesia.
"People are looking for moderate Islam like what. Islam wasatiyah is now looking for, (in) the Middle East it was not found, it was found in Indonesia," said Ma'ruf when receiving the ranks of the Management of the Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch (PCINU) Japan in Kyoto, Japan, Tuesday 7 March, confiscated by Antara.
He said one of the moderate Islamic understandings can be found in NU's body. He asked Japanese PCINU to always have a dynamical mindset.
"So the static way of thinking is not NU. Therefore, contextualization of the thoughts of problems faced by the national and global," he explained.
He reminded that there are three NU paradigms, namely taking good old ones, taking new ones that are good or transforming, and trying to get even better or innovative.
"Well, this must be innovative, transformative. It requires a smart mindset. Either in Japan or in the country, NU must obtain a knowledgeable young generation and think ahead," he said.
Previously, the Spokesperson for the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi conveyed a PCINU audience with the Vice President to discuss and at the same time encourage the development of moderate Islam for Muslims in the Land of Sakura.
"This is a meeting between the Vice President and PCINU cadres in Japan. This meeting is more about how NU-based diaspora friends want to develop a moderate Islamic network in Japan's Sakura Country," said Masduki Baidlowi after accompanying the Vice President in Kyoto, Japan, Tuesday 7 March.
Masduki said that the development of cultural and religious culture in Japan is relatively safe. However, NU still has to adapt to local cultural customs.
"Earlier there was also an extraordinary spirit from NU cadres, about how NU networks in Japan have been formed to MWCI (Special Branch Representative Assembly) levels, there are even plans from each MWCI there is a kind of office address either in the form of a temporary office or maybe there is a kind of permanent office," said Masduki.
He said the most important thing about the meeting was the spirit of how Indonesian Muslims in Japan, which amounted to approximately 100,000 people, could be protected by moderate Islamic understanding.
According to him, Japan's PCINU is one of the responsible for providing moderate Islamic content to Muslims in Japan.
